This week we were lucky to have Rhian and her sister bring in their cockatiel’s, BB-8, Joker and AH. Tamariki were so excited to see them. Each child was given the opportunity gently pat Joker and have him stand on their hand if they wanted to. We were learning about being calm around the birds and to respect them. Tamariki drew pictures of Joker and made cards for Rhian and her sister. We look forward to next week when the Living Eggs program brings in some chicken eggs for us to hatch.
This last week has been a busy one at creche with children making handmade gifts from the heart to celebrate Mother's day. They made natural bees wax honey wraps, finger print pendants and/or the perfect breakfast in bed tray.
A massive thank you to Bunnings for their donations of the breakfast tray materials and for their support. We hope the small gifts acknowledge aroha, reciprocity and relationships.
Thank you to those who made it along to our 'Colour Fun Run' last month. A great time was had by all and we look forward to the next one.
It was a privledge to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Meadowood Community Creche, having been in service to the local community families for all of the 20 years. The children of creche worked to create the beautiful rainbow artwork which was gifted to the Community house to commemorate the occasion. It was great seeing so many of the people and families who have contributed to the creche over the years. Bring on the next 20!
